Nadal defeats Djokovic in STRAIGHT SETS to win his 13th French Open Tennis title!

1. Rafael Nadal on Sunday annihilated Novak Djokovic 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 to win his 13th French Open title while equaling Roger Federer’s all-time record of 20 Grand Slam titles.
1.1.World No. One Djokovic’s hopes of 18th Slam and of becoming the first man to win all four majors twice since Rod Laver in 1969 were shattered as Nadal produced a breathtaking performance to dominate the Serb.
2. This was the third time Nadal beat Djokovic at Roland Garros in Paris to secure the title.
2.1.Nadal also bettered his head-to-head against the Serbian World No. 1 in Grand Slam finals, now trailing 12-15.
3. Nadal, 34, also claimed his 100th match win at Roland Garros against just two defeats since his 2005 debut.
3.1.The Spanish ace hence becomes the oldest champion in Paris since Andres Gimeno in 1972 and that too without dropping a single set.
4. World Number 2 Nadal won his semi-final against Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman to reach his 13th French Open final.
4.1. He is the most accomplished player in the history of the Grand Slam, and has never lost a final at Roland Garros.
5. World Number 1 Djokovic beat Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas to reach his fifth final at the French Open.
5.1. He has won the tournament once, in 2016, and knocked out Nadal in the 2015 quarterfinal.
